Dr. Elizabeth Blood is a Professor of French in the World Languages and Cultures Department where she teaches all levels of French courses, from basic language classes through advanced literature and culture courses, plus a few courses in English world cultures and European literature. She earned her B.A. in Anthropology from Connecticut College, and her M.A. in French and her Ph.D. in French and Italian from Boston College. She is the author of Intrigue: langue, culture et mystère dans le monde francophone, an intermediate French textbook published by Pearson Education (3rd edition, 2011) and Je me souviens: histoire, culture et littérature, a Québec culture reader for students of French recently published by Georgetown University Press (2015). Her current research focus is on North American Francophone cultures, including Québec and Franco-America. As faculty fellow, she coordinates the First Year Seminar program.
